How do the shooters like the gravel versus concrete at most of the other big matches? I have only shot a match or two on gravel and didn't care for it. It never occurred to me that a national championship would be shot on gravel. Maybe I just didn't know how to make it work for me, though.

Gravel is Ok get set it's real stable, not as easy to shift NPA small amounts though.

What bothers me is when the line is not level right to left. Have shot some that had notable up or down hill target presentation too. One nearby club my Chicken hit rate was low match after match. Shot it practice one time painted on cardboard chickens, misses just over the back. They are real downhill from the line. Pigs a bit less Turkeys almost level Rams dead level in relationship to the firing line. Setting NPA left and right is usual. Not paying attention to NPA forward and backward got me . NPA with one foot higher than the other, never figured out.

My club is nicely groomed, House line targets berms everything, our club shooters get spoiled, travel to others not all ways that way.

I have shot gravel in several places, Ridgway being one. The gravel at Ridgway is most adaptable to the shooter, some ranges it is too coarse and difficult to get balanced. As boats mentioned, small position changes are challenging on gravel but can be done. Ridway is remarkably well laid out as far as direct line of sight to the target and not too much up/down hill changes for smallbore. It is a nice range to shoot, wind can be tricky but that is true ant any range.

My first time at the nationals this year and know it won't be my last, at least in Ridgeway. To see all the top shooters in one place with shoulder to shoulder shootoffs was incredible. The folks running the match did an outstanding job I thought and everybody was so friendly and willing to help. Got home this afternoon and can't wait for the local match on Sunday.
Thanks for posting the pics, they came out better than some of mine. Results are on the NRA website but for some reason I could not find the aggregates.
