Rifle Question

Have a CZ 455 that shoots pretty well, 3 lb trigger and a Leupold 6.5-20 on top. I have reached high teens, and hope to hit the low 20's my last few matches.
I am thinking no need to upgrade the equipment- at this point? I am thinking that low 30's consistently then new rifle-
and based on whats out there, the only real upgrade is an Anschutz?

Chuck,
presuming you have ammo that your CZ likes, that rig will take you into the low 30's easily, as long as it fits you. Balance is key in shooting, just as NPA is, if you are straining your neck (scope too low/high, too far forward/back....), arms or other body parts to get into position with the rifle, then you are introducing muscle movement.
Upgrades are not so much the brand as they are the fit and trigger.

Your first hurdel is believing your rifle will shoot that well. You have to trust your equipment and NEVER forget the basics of great shooting. Natural point of aim, trigger control, and a good follow-thru. The CZ will get you into AAA without any problem and into master with lots of practice.

I agree with everyone - all you need is confidence and practice. One thing you might consider - Your rifle will shoot differently in the (standing) off-hand position that it does from a sandbag or rest. Use the bench to get close then fine tune your scope settings by shooting in the off-hand position.

During the .22 ammo famine I've been forced to shoot something new. I discovered at 50 yards the off-hand scope setting was 10, 1/4 minute, clicks higher than the bench setting - that's 2.5" inches different. If I hadn't discovered this I would be shooting low at all the targets - and I need all the help I can get. Now that I positively know the scope settings are correct I feel more confident in my rifle's accuracy with the new .22 ammo.

Practice tip - I use the large Shoot N See targets and cut out the target animals with the aid of a stencil I made from a downloaded paper target. I make pigs and rams and the hits show up well.

You can make your own shoot and see targets. Bright yellow paper, clear packing tape, and cheep flat black spray paint. There are a couple of videos on u-tube on that subject.

Shooting paper targets will tell you a lot more than shooting steel. The holes in the paper don't lie.
