Stocks
I just saw an ad about these guys, http://mannersstocks.com. I wonder if we approached them if the would offer the Pharr style stock? They do make a carbon fiber stock now.

Yea, surfboard tech. Get some easy to machine foam and have at it. Then vacuum bag the whole affair.cedestech wrote:There is a duplicator on yellow 54 right now... some one could make a mold or balsa plug from a Pharr and then wrap in glass and paint.... There are also several other benefits to "surfboard tech". As a prototype, if there is a section that isn't what you are after (as opposed to build up a spot a little bit with microballoons) you just cut it out glue in a new block in that area and shape away.
Most people think of this technique only as a way of making "one offs", but there are some foams that can be pored into comparatively inexpensive molds and then processed...just like mass produced surf boards.
