"The more the merrier" they always say! I might try my Marlin 39as that got me started 5 years ago. I just got it back from the Gunsmith today. He assured me their would be no more FTF and fixed for good with proof in his basement firing, while there.

I am glad I found this site! I will be at the Frosty Iron shoot! I am with Paper on the great time had by all last year. I had more fun than a man should be allowed to have! I plan to shoot a different rifle this year. Hope to break my last year's record score......3! I am just glad my manhood is measured by the number of horizontal chickens! :))

Sorry everyone.. My fault.. I sent him the link.. ;)

Actually, last year's match was the first either of us had shot.. I knew the basics of the game because I'd worked a match a couple years ago, but never participated. Hope to shoot many more, though..

Our match was open to the public this past Saturday. There were 4 of us for the winter tournament and 4 from the public who paid to shoot for fun.

Temperature: 8F @ 11am Start
Windchill: -10F with wind gusts

Match Winner: 16/40 Hunter only.
Then went: 11/40, 7/40, 3/40

The 4 public, non registered, that came, one fellow had 13/40.

Some of us were at the range at 9am to break open the shed door full of ice from 2 days before checking. We swept the snow off the range concrete floor with 12 stations. We cleared a snow path to the chickens then to Pigs.....etc. At the same time we cleared the individual animal stands of snow. Our sand burns were covered with snow, and could see puffs, on missed shots, which were many. There was just barely enough fee money to cover the cost of pizza and soda + tip at the local Pizza Hut. I think this match will have been the coldest in club history. With all 8 contestants, no one had any issues with rifle or ammunition.

I arrived home around 3pm and went to bed to do some more unthawing and watch movies. Two people had an hours drive home.

Reading this just gave me a great fun idea. I'm going to make molds of my animals and make food dye colored ice animals! Take a cooler full of them to the range and blast away! Now where did I see that ice cube mold maker?
I buy all my guns from t-rex. He's a small arms dealer.
