For all you snow dwellers a pic from the match range today.

Just thought I would toss up a pic from the range we are headed to this morning in Mississippi. A secret little gem tucked in the woods. Give you something to live vicariously through for a few more months  Now go dry fire in your basement!

Well not a pic from today but it looks this way pretty much year round. Ahh yes the south where guns are welcome AND you can actually shoot them all year round :P I think the high is a chilly 60 degrees today! Burr

Well, I could practice out the back window with my 39A on a 1/2 scale chicken till this week. The metal bar in the photo is all you can see of my swinger. After three months of retirement, I now know why people go south in the winter.
Have fun at the match, I'll be dry firing. BORING!!!

This is the South Mississippi Gun Association range in Pearlington, MS, which is about 2 miles from the Louisiana state line near Slidell. We shoot smallbore on the third Saturday of the month.

Thanks for the info...Just bought a house in greenwood,fl...everyone is there now...but I am still in Miami...But as soon as I get up there I will try to drop in for a shoot...now that I am located in a more gun friendly area I will google it up to see how far you are from me....btw...I have been able to enjoy shooting in the back yard something I could never do in miami.

As far as Mississippi matches go, there is a match in Biloxi on the first Saturday of the month. It's at a very nice club. It's still about four hours from Greenwood, but you could always drive over there on Friday and stay the night. At least there is something to do in Biloxi. It's about a 2 Hour drive for us from Baton Rouge and sometimes my wife and I will go to Biloxi and stay a night on Friday And I shoot on Saturday while she shops at the outlet mall. It's fun.

I have been trying to convince Larry Shook, who runs the Biloxi match, to hold a Mississippi State championship there. I think it would be a good match for folks from Florida and Georgia to meet up with us from Mississippi/Louisiana and maybe some Texas shooters.

There was a bit of fresh snow on the Malahat range this morning for today's match with the the temperature just above freezing and mixed snow and rain falling. We had 2 full relays of 8 shooters; twice as many as last week's match in Nanaimo.

I managed a few new personal bests today, but was proudly, humbled by my rotten kid who came out to shoot her first match.

I'm very much ready for some warmer weather.
