More expensive to feed, but worth it.

Plan A,B, and C

Post by Jim Beckley »

I normally shoot 123 Sierras at c,p,t, so I tried to get some. Nobody had any that I contacted, that was plan a, even called Sierra to see when the next production run on them would be, they didn't know. Ordered 1000 Lapua bullets from Powder Valley, that was plan b, I guess sometime down the road I will be going with plan c, throwing rocks.

Just be sure to weight sort your rocks, and you may want to point them. Maybe see if Whidden will make a rock pointing die.

I'll also use 123gr AMAX bullets on the C-P-T. Great shooting in my rifle and plenty enough thump to take them all down no problem. AMAX on Rams not so great though so stick with 142gr Sierras or 139gr Scenars for those. 6.5 bullets are slim pickings right now in all flavors. Grafs had some in stock a week or two ago but not sure about the 123's.

Trespassers will be shot.
Survivors will be shot again!
