Humbling

Post by Mals9 »

I am practicing for my first match in July. I went to the range today and put a paper chicken silhouette at 50 yards. 2 out of 20 struck the black. My I have lots to learn.

Just keep going :-bd

My very first national competition I shot one pig out of 40 and to this day it is still the shot I am most proud of. Only place to go is up.

If it was easy - anyone could do it.

The only way to improve is practice, practice, practice (and it helps to get lucky).

Hang in there, it'll get better - I promise.

PS: I'm still waiting for the luck to kick in.

I was an airborne ranger and have been hunting since I was little, I thought this would be easy. After practicing I realized it is NOT easy. My first match I shot an 8. Hang in there and don't get discouraged, it humbles everyone when we start out. You'll get better, just have fun and enjoy the 2 that DID hit the black.

And Jerry, Mary isn't old, she's experienced!

Went for another practice session this morning. Much better. I adjusted my grip on the forearm 2" or so forward and to made a big difference. The hold was much more stable and my groups vastly improved.
