Just finished my first Ironman match.....

I just finished my first Ironman match in Missoula, Montana, and was reminded again of what a great sport this is..... One of the most beautiful ranges I've ever been on, some of the most competent administrative staff ever (Thank you, Monica and Mike and Terry), and a terrific group of silhouette shooters to spend the off-line time with..... I just simply had a great time.

In my mind, you could do a whole lot worse than "hanging around" rifle silhouette shooters, a whole damn lot worse! I'll shoot silhouette as long as I can totter to the line, or as long as I can get somebody to stand me up there. Score? Who cares? It's the process, not the result, that really matters. In the ski season I surround myself with ski patrollers, and in the off-ski season I surround myself with silhouette rifle shooters: both groups comprise the best damn people in the world. I am a lucky man.

Glad you had a good time up at our range. You could do a lot worse than the shooters we get to our matches thats for sure. Sorry I was too sick to show up and help out. I feel like a slacker for not being able to help out at a match like this. It is amazing to watch the well oiled machine at work isn't it? Too bad we don't have power there, Mike and I had some ideas for some technology to help out, but it all requires juice. Hope to see you up here again!
