A funny thing....

....happened at the range yesterday. The annual miller moth infestation here is in full swing. My shooting regimen is fire five, grab another rifle for another five, etc. I chambered a round but could not close the bolt at all. Like the case was too long, way too long. I pulled the round out to see liquid miller moth mush all around the shoulder of the case. These things get into everything, I always come home with a bunch hiding in boxes, you name it. I had my cleaning kit with me and had to do a "wet clean up on aisle three" with water and a bore mop on the 700's chamber.

Glad the little bugger did not crawl into the bore before I pulled the trigger. I wonder what would have happened if I had ? I kept the bolts closed the rest of the time there.

Quite a while ago a friend and I were deer hunting. His pre 64 winchester had been in his basement store room all year long. And the old boy never looked down the bore or fired the damn thing till that hunting season. When he let an '06 go the front silver soldered sight sprang up into the view of his scope. It appears some critter made a nest in the bore...and the shot produced a very nice bulge in that fine old rifle.....lucky

You keep shooting like this and using up your monthly allotment of powder and bullets up you going to need to get another J…O…B to support your habit. Besides you should be reloading from the Ironman and not burning more powder.

Why are you messing with the internet on company time, Buddy? Get back to WORK.. Yeah, I am 800 empty's behind in loading right now. But I have 1500 ready to empty on tap, and components out the wazoo. I got nothing but time to load, shoot, repeat.

Been working hard here 259. Got 350 of the brass loaded up. Had to break into a new 40 lb. box of Sierra 140 gr. flat base rejects. How is your work day going?

Well, it's about time they wised up. Three years ago at your regional I asked and was told by the "big guy" to watch for a full line of .284 slugs from them. Will they profit in the North American market? We are the worlds largest consumer of this size bullet. Time will tell. Try and snag some to add to your door prize selection. Make sure the person pulling cards gets mine. I will dog ear it for feel.

Graf's website shows a 180 gr. Scenar, that could be a ram killer for sure. But, none in stock. I wonder if standard 9 to 9.5 twist rate would stabilize them. Sierra recommends 8 twist for their 175 MK's.

Ohhhhhhhhhhhhhh... a 180gr 7mm Scenar. That's just wicked! Sure would put a heck of a whallup on the Rams if one had the right twist for them.

That would work nicely in a 284win for f-class.

By the way...speaking of 180 gr medicine,,,,JLK makes a custom 7mm 180 and a 168 that are superb...and they are hand made custom bench rest quality ;) ;)
