Bill Boone left the range Sat morning 7/5/2014

Post by DennisC »

Got the word from friend in Zwolle Saturday morning that Bill Boone died that morning. Some of you knew him much better and for much longer than I, perhaps some will comment. Bill was a dedicated and enthusiastic HP shooter, our sport is greatly diminished as we part with these long time match directors.

Bill had a stroke a few years ago and another one last year sometime if I recall that really disabled him to the point he was in a nursing home. He was getting by after the 1st one but the 2nd one was obviously to much. I heard he suffered a series of mini strokes this past weekend and that was the end.

Really nice guy and very passionate about shooting. He was the kind of guy you felt like you always knew already.

RIP Bill.......

Bill Boone was a great competitor, friend of all he met and supporter of the sport of silhouette shooting. I knew he had been ill and just found out this morning about his moving on to the great shooting range in the sky. He supported Winnsboro Gun Club with his presence and advice for many years. If anyone knows about where to send a memorial and a sympathy card to his widow, please let me know.

Here's to my friend Bill Boone and I hope the Cuba Libre drinks are flowing copiously in heaven for you! Thanks for all the memories!
