If there was a free online scoring system would you use it?

Ok, I need a little design help with this project. I'll tell you what I have so far, you tell me what I'm missing.

Some of this stuff is static I will already have entered like:

Disciplines (SB Hunter, SB Silhouette, HP Hunter etc etc)
Classes (B,A,AA and what scores put you in which classes for which disciplines)

You can register matches. Actually multiple matches within a Tournament (within a shoot? a match? Need to get terminology right). So for the ironman the match director would put 4 matches in it. SB Hunter, SB Silhouette, HP Hunter, and HP Silhouette.

You can put in shooters. Their names, address,email,NRA number, password for the site, phones, and steel chicken handle.

You can put a shooter in a match.
You can score a shooter for a match (by individual animal or just by animal totals OR just match total)
If a person scores ten in a row in a match it will be logged to a separate place. These can also be entered manually to add historical ones or ones that aren't from matches in this system.
Wild Kingdoms will be calculated based on ten in a rows (and all old ones will be entered)
All long runs can be entered and the records will all be in the system and acknowledged.

All shooters classes can be entered originally, from there forward they will be calculated by the system.

I only have the database portion of all of this done, I'll get busy on the web pages as soon as I'm sure I haven't missed anything. What else do I need to record or keep track of?

From this you could look at the results of any match, or maybe look at all shooters in your state by class. Or look at all master shooters scores for the month. Or just about anything else. It could even calculate Dustins 4 regionals to determine a National champ if all the data were in the system....

Also for now I could generate the form you need to send to the NRA after the match. You could (arghhh!) print it out and mail it to them, or attach it to an email.

Please help me to see what holes are in this data so I can get it right and make a good, usable system for us all. Thanks.

OldRanger, break out scores need to be entered somewhere, ie a shooter scoring two classes higher than the one he/she is in. Tracking the scores for at least two years would help track what class the shooter is in.

Thanks Mary. I'll keep track sort of like the book now. For each score I'll show what class the score is, and if it moves a shooter up. Moving down seems rare and needs an official petition etc, so I'll do that differently. Also I'll keep track of all scores I can get my hands on. If people want to enter all of their scores back to 1930 that would be fine with me.

On a side note I just discovered yesterday that the NRA has some of this already in place. They have the online tournament registering web pages. They also have all of our names and info (associated with our NRA number). Too bad I couldn't get them to open that up to me so I could just add the scoring part. Anyone know anyone in the NRA IT department?
