leupold 50 foot focus adaptor
I finally ordered a Leupold FX -3 25x40mm as well as the 50 foot focus adaptor. Now that these things are being shipped to me I have another newbe question? Does the 50 foot focus adaptor get screwed onto the end of the scope or onto the end of the sun shade? Thanks

I always attach my adapter to the scope.

What he said.
I buy all my guns from t-rex. He's a small arms dealer.

Re: leupold 50 foot focus adaptor
There are two different versions of the adapter. Pre2004, and post 2004 thread. The pre2004 has the same thread on both ends. The post 2004 has the new tread to screw into the objective, but the scope shade end is threaded for the pre2004 thread. So if you screw directly into the scope you will need an old pre2004 sunshade. The new sunshades will not fit the new style adapters. Super silly design.

Why would you use a sun shade to shoot indoors? all you are doing by using a shade is cutting down the light thru your scope.
Back when I had a cheep scope on my sil rifle, I just used electricians tape to attach the Leupold 50 ft lens. Worked just fine.
