The Montana-mobile is no more...
Well, it still exists but it's not mine anymore.
For Bigfoot (Mark), Mordecai (Mike), and Seamus O'Grady (Bruce), that Honda Odyssey minivan that has hauled us back and forth from western Washington to Montana for the Ironman in years past got traded today for a Honda Pilot Touring. It doesn't quite have the capacity of the minivan, so we may have to find a different vehicle to haul us all over this year. Surprisingly enough, it was my wife's choice to do so and I didn't discourage it at all. I'm pretty sure she won't let us take her shiny black Pilot over to Montana and get it covered, and filled, with dirt like we did the minivan.

You can load that Pilot up with plenty of gear for a trip. We take mine all the time. Dee, Jerry and I have carried 3 people, 16 rifles, air tanks, shooting vests, spotting scopes, shooting gear and clothes to Houston several times for the Texas air rifle match. We've also carried 4 people, with clothes, spotting scopes, shooting vests, HP rifles, gear and ammo (including Jerry's EIGHT (8) boxes of ammo!) to Arkansas and Missouri for HP regionals and been very comfortable. The key is having an EXPERT vehicle packer and I don't want to brag but I'm probably the premier gear packer in the world today.
I will admit that it gets a little tight on the way home when we add awards and trophies after giving a thorough spanking to Bonner, McAlice and their crew or Motl, the Steigers and their crew...

The issues preventing us driving the Pilot isn't the lesser space than the Odyssey minivan. It's the wife, who also knows how to shoot, saying that we're not doing to her new Pilot what we did to her minivan.

Are you saying that Jason should tie his wife to the roof rack? I am not sure that is going to work.OldRanger wrote:I got two words for you.
