WTB/WTT for: Marlin model 60, Ithaca or Henry 22LR (cheap)

Post by Tlee »

Looking for a 22LR rifle I can use as a loaner for our local club Cowboy Rifle silhouette match... I'm having lots of interest from newbies lately and I'd like to have something readily available on the firing line that would allow a newbie or otherwise interested party to shoot our match easily. Would also make a good backup for a regular shooter if their regular rifle fails them.

I'm thinking something cheap, but acceptably accurate, such as the Marlin model 60 or any of the old Ithaca or Henry round barrel models (youth model or adult sized). Any other tubular magazine semi-auto or lever actions would also be considered.

Thanks in advance,

- Tim

Tim,

I have an old Model 60 that has a couple of issues. The rear sight elevator is a piece of plastic (looks like it was cut from a plastic ammo box) and if I recall correctly it has ejection issues. That being said, it's yours free of charge if you want it. I will be at the Air Rifle match in Baton Rouge in March and would be happy to send it back with a Texan if one is coming your way.

Folks I've also had a couple of my local shooters (newbies) ask me to keep a look out for a cheap(er) rifle for them as well.... One family is attempting to share one Henry H001Youth model between 2 kiddos, the dad, and the wife (and we only shoot 2 relays)... Obviously they definitely need at least one more rifle.

So feel free to contact me if you have something you think they'd be interested in as well.
