Silhouette rifle scope height question
Quick question about max scope height.
Per hunting rifle rules, "Scopes may not be more than 1.5 inches above the rifle, as measured from the top of the receiver to the underside of the scope tube".
For rifles with a dovetail, is the top of the dovetail considered the top of the receiver?
Thanks

Re: Silhouette rifle scope height question
As you noted: "from the top of the receiver" is any part of the receiver that is nearest the bottom of the scope tube.kaisir42 wrote:....... as measured from the top of the receiver to the underside of the scope tube".

It doesn't matter if the "top" is a dovetail (or portion thereof), a screw hole, or a smooth radius surface, it is whatever is nearest the scope tube, assuming that the scope is mounted atop the receiver.
