Competitors meeting

Post by rogersptl »

I see the 'new classification system' question has been asked. My ? is has the question from 2015 Nationals covering re-classing a 'known shooter' been addressed. I asked that a time since last match fired be included; 5 years ? 10 years?. It seems to me ALL the items recorded at the comp meeting at Nationals should be addressed. AND minutes of said silhouette committee gathering should be available to the membership. What's to hide?

Great idea, I nominate you to take and distribute minutes from all the competitor's meetings to all the competitors. :)

"5 years? 10 years? " I think that timeline is a little optimistic.

I will be surprised if they have electronic registration for Nationals a few years from now.

I just want to address this to on one other than the clever Mr. Anonymous <[email protected]>, who, in a very cowardly fashion, sent me the following anonymous email, please let us all know when you grow up and become brave enough to come out from behind that rock. Whatever you were hoping to accomplish pretty much failed beyond making a fool of yourself.

Another brilliant post by a tool. Who died and left you in charge of stupid comments?

The way I read and comprehended Roger's post is as follows:

1) Certain questions were posed in the 2015 Silhouette Nationals competitors meeting(s) dealing with the proposed new classification system that Roger would like for the NRA Silhouette Committee to address. If and when they hold a meeting to discuss these questions, he would like the minutes of that Silhouette Committee meeting to be widely disseminated so that everyone will be aware of the answers to those questions. Pretty simple request that doesn't seem to entail a lot of difficulty or need to nominate him to distribute any minutes from competitors meetings.

2) With respect to his "re-classing" question, I think he wants some guidance as to how to apply the new classification titles to a previous competitor having an "old" system classification when that competitor chooses to begin competing again after say a 5 or 10 year hiatus.

Of course I could be wrong and only Roger can really explain what he meant, but it seems like a lot of unnecessary confusion and drama for such a simple request.

Jim, I suspect you have interpreted the OP about right.

Meanwhile, our Mr. Anonymous hasn't found his courage yet. But he has a new email address, very appropriate too, "[email protected]". I think he needs to visit Oz and see if the Wizard can fix him up with a shot of courage like our old lion. Anyway, he continues to me mail with more scintillating insults...

Once a Coward, always a Coward, I guess.

Mr. Anonymous, if you are going to continue to email me, please try to be more creative. You are pretty boring, in addition to being a coward.

Brent

Thanks Jim T. You read what I wished answered correctly. BUT it was with the 'current classification' system which says a 'known' silhouette shooter will enter as his last classification, no matter how long they have been 'retired' form competition. Greg Connor didnt follow the rules when he issued a letter allowing a 'known' competitor to enter a match, shoot with the highest classed shooters and have that score be the classification for future events bypassing the # of successive scores to be reclassed down. The adding a time period would give everyone a benchmark and not just rely on a letter from NRA silhouette. Best wishes Congratulation to those making the PA Nationals. Any info on 2016 dates? Roger
