60 shot matches

I've checked and didnot find the 'authorized' procedure for a 60 shot match. The NRA match instructions call for recording the 60 shot event as such into the booklets. My question is: do the 15 shots have to be fired before leaving the line? Or could a 'club' match 40 be fired then a 20 shot fired at a later relay. I'm trying to come up with a way to shoot a 60 shot match when we only have a bay of 10 targets. Yes a way would be to reset then shoot the #11-15 targets before moving to the next relay. Then start the next relay with 5 and reset for the remaining 10. Doing so I have not developed a 'who sets' targets pattern that works. This is where shooters reset, not with separate crew to set. You either have to shoot 10 - 5 - 5 - 10 etc... or take and split half the shooting positions to have a straight 15 with out reseting. Seen it done both ways.

I'd say shooting 10-5 ... 5-10 is the way to go.

For the resetting just have everyone go downrange every time. Makes it go quicker.

We used to shoot 60-shot smallbore silhouette matches at our range and we only have 20 of each type (four banks of five) of animal. We had two shooters each shoot two banks of animals (shooter A on banks 1/2, shooter B on banks 3/4) and then we'd reset targets so that each of those shooters would come back to the line at the same positions and shoot one more bank of animals (shooter A on bank 1, shooter B on bank 3). Then we'd change relays and have two new shooters shoot one bank each (shooter C on bank 2, shooter D on bank 4) and then reset so that those shooters could come back and shoot two more banks each (shooter C on banks 1/2, shooter D on banks 3/4). It worked out fine for us, but the matches lasted a bit longer than we'd like when we had two of them with lunch between. Now we just shoot 40-shot matches. It does provide fewer opportunities for grand slam pins, though, since 60-shot matches provide two chances (first 10 or last 10) on each animal.
