Had one for silhouette, stolen in 1985.
Saw one come up on one of our Cdn gun groups. Bought it, e-mail, right away.
$300 US !!! $400 our Cnd pesos.
Going to scope it & play with reloads next year.
Still have some of that old rem 308 small primer pocket brass.

Hope I can get a few shots off. Any help with this calibre appreciated.
Thinking 150gr, 4895, cii br-4.
Have got them necked down & sized but they're about .0185" !
This brass wasn't supposed to need neck turning.
I have five old cases and they're all about .013 - .0135 - time to warm up the Forester.

you got a good deal. i got one in 7mm-08 and my wife shoots one in 30-223. got then in 82/83. they never given us any problems. still use the old 1980 aimpoint on them. did buy after market stocks for them. use the bigger stock for about a year then went back to the factory stocks.

I traded for one a few years back on gunbroker, always wanted one to hunt antelope but still have not taken it hunting. Mines like new, makes an interesting conversation piece in the safe.

Attached are a couple of pages out the Hornady silhouette load guide published in the 1980’s I believe. The test gun was even an XP-100. I’ve had/have several 7BR’s---all in rifles. I really like them and even hunt with them. One issue I’ve had is the failure of the primer to ignite the powder charge or ignite it just enough to cause a hang fire. So, if this happens to you, try a different primer and it may cure the issue. It only occurred with certain primer/powder combinations but happened with both stick and ball powders. I’ve only used cases that are designed for small rifle primers---the old BR cases that had to be cut and formed and the current cases made for the 7BR. The XP100’s are nice pistols, I had one in 221FB and regret selling it, but the muzzle blast even in the 221FB was harsh. Best of luck with yours.
