What Do You Do For Your Club/Range?

I try and remain as actively involved as I can. I am a board member at our club. When we open the club range for the 4-H kids one Saturday a year, I'm there volunteering. When we open up 4 of the ranges to the public for kids to shoot one Saturday a year, I volunteer. I keep telling myself that I should help out with the Cowboy Action group when they have their monthly tournaments, but have a tough time to rise to the occasion. Our State Pistol Championship is the last weekend of this month, I will be there to help.

Are you one of those that let's others help at your local range or club? Attend meetings? Get involved!
What do you do to help in any areas of your range that require normal maintenance, weekly, monthly? Are you on any committee, work force? How can you improve conditions and help?

U was a board member and later, an officer. It was, by far, one of the most frustrating experiences of my life.

I just joined our club, Bayou Rifles in Houston, this past March. I was always told it was next to impossible to get in and you would be lucky if they opened up membership in the next five years.

I've attended two work days there, including the one after the range had been under floodwaters for a month and a half (slimey and gross). I've also worked on getting some plate racks in shape on my own time.

It doesn't take much to put in a little work every once in a while to make things better for everyone.
