Ok - I have the results! The WA State SB Silhouette Championships are an 80-shot match and 120-shot aggregate match over two days. A tremendous thanks go to the Pe Ell Sportsmen's Club (Steve, Marvin, and all the usual suspects). An extra, extra special thanks goes out to Harry and his family, some our newest shooters. Some of you may remember Harry from Conard this year, I believe he took 1st in Single-A. He and his family wanted to make sure no shooter went hungry at this weekend's match and brought a field-kitchen's worth of Stew, Rice and Wraps for Saturday and Soup and Fried Rice for Sunday!!!! I can't tell you how delicious it was!!!! Thanks again Harry and family!
On to the results... (Or as best as I scribbled them down because the wife had the camera for the weekend...)

Great looking plaques!! The food sounds great too, maybe it just cause I've been in the field all day and didn't eat, yess Chicken we even work Sundays if the weather is good...but it is hot tub time
Seriously, the Pacific NW has great food too, almost as good as Duckie's. Of course that is just the Southern side of me coming out.

Congratulations Mike on your weekend and thanks for the encouragement when I would miss. Mordecai was my spotter and vise versa, it was my first time spotting for somebody so I hope I helped allthough I could've givin you somemore pep talk but from the way you were shooting I did'nt think you needed any. A very big THANK YOU goes out to Harry and his wife and daughter for bringing the excellent food both days. You know its tough when you knock down all ten rams and then only hit three chickens and know you lost the 120 agg by one animal, especially to Byron. Congrats to you to Byron. That was a great shoot off for the 80 shot win. Almost forgot a BIG THANKS to Steve and Marvin for putting on a great state champ match.

Crap.. I totally forgot about that match. Kevin Knowles lives right up here with me and I was going to check into heading down together. Someone remind me next year, multiple times. I'm pretty much in silhouette shooting withdrawal with us not having our monthly matches due to hunter sight-in in September in October, and I had a wedding I had to go to in Portland over the weekend of our August match. I can't believe I forgot it...
Oh well, congrats to everyone. Looks like the usual suspects showed up and shot really well, so maybe it's good that I didn't shoot and get embarassed.

Oh no Jason - everyone was asking where you were at. We assumed work had caught up with you and that you were tied up. We'll set a reminder alert for you next year!
And to Shakes, it was all good - I'm still new to spotting myself, but we'll work it all out in the end. It was a good weekend for shooting.
And I have to say, after reading "With Winning in Mind" and having Dennis not "remember" to bring back the Standard or Hunter MW trophies was a laugh riot.
And to my great buddy Byron... who'd routinely give me this international sign after missing my 10th animal...

Shakes, I hate to say it but with digital camera's and the internet it is amazing how fast pictures get around. Last year while working in Colorado pictures of me playing with visitng snake made it up within 15 minutes, had a few people sending me emails from work almost immediately. This year all the photographers caught of me that I'm aware of is "handling the money" (taking lunch orders, I only lost one bet in the course of the week) and working...Hey how did you get my picture.
so even though I know that isn't truly you choking in the picture remember this...move the sights DOWN when going from Rams to chickens.

Ahh!! Keeping all the trade secrets to yourself. Is that how you and those southern boys do so well? I might have to see if I can make down there next year to shoot.Innocent wrote:Shakes,
If you move up too fast I'll make sure you know that moving those little knobs is clockwise for up and .....hmmm not sure I want to say more.

Sounds good. I'm going to try and start saving now. Byron went and said it didnt cost much at all. He also said they had a larger group of A and AA shooters than AAA or Masters. We probable would do quite well at the southern nats. Hope to see you this sat at TSC.Jason wrote:I've been trying to build the groundwork with the wife for me to go to the Southern Nationals next year, Shakes. We should get a big group of us up to go down together.
