The finish was done by Dowling at the customers request. It is some sort of sander / grinder applied pattern. It is well executed through out the length. It gives the appearance of an ice frosted glass window. I like it, too. Much better looking than a polished bright or grit blasted finish.
I may have to buy this one for myself......no..wait...I am a 7mm nut!! What was I thinking?

I have seen that finish before. Was on a high end HP BR rifle I sold for a friend....
I know I am not being asked, but that re-barrel job is worth the asking price. Dan's work is legendary according to some... here are some pics of the rifle I sold, really liked the finish... In any case the barreled action is worth the price, and then some....

McAlice, Throw your saddle on this pony and give it a ride! Leave that 7mm in the barn!

No can do Bob - already scrounging for a build that has strayed a long way from the original plan. It's a shame, though, because it is a beautiful rifle at an attractive price.

Ah - that'll fix everything for sure... "Hon, I need $750 for another rifle and, oh yeah - another $700 for the new stock so it'll fit right. And, uh, $500 for brass, bullets, dies, primers and powder." Did I forget anything? Bob, no way can I sleep in the man cave...Bob259 wrote:It will be fine... kitty and i will talk to your wifeBlauBear wrote:No can do Bob - already scrounging for a build that has strayed a long way from the original plan. What's wrong with sleeping in the man cave??? Nice place if you ask me....Lot nicer than the Bat Cave or the Fortress of Solitude.....
Bob259...... won't work talking to 'Bear's wife...She's too smart for that...What you've got to do is convince 'Bear that he needs that rifle..........Kind of like the way I convinced you that you needed the Stiller Predator action....You remember, I even did the math for you to justify it....The rifle turned out great, it's a work of art and your life is now much better for owning it..
Hey 'Bear that rifle is a great buy.....Bare action in the white (if you can get one ) will run 550....Then you have to pay to have it built.....buy a custom barrel....You can sell the factory stock...It already has a custom barrel....How can you resist???

Maybe we need and intervention to get BB moving on this. Remember BB, it's always easier to ask for forgivness then to ask for permission
Besides you can blame it on Kitty and I.
