Colorado State HP Match
14 people showed up to shoot our match this weekend. This was our last "large " gathering for the season. We shoot year round monthly , but Oct. thru March only the diehards show up. The rest are off hunting or go into silhouette hibernation till spring.
Was a good match overall, but the weather was a little tricky this weekend. We had fog early Saturday with cool temps and light winds all day. Sunday was a little warmer, but got real windy right at the start of match one. After all had shot their first animal, we went to our standard "PLAN B". When ever we get a strong south wind, we relocate the firing line to the low land down in front of the firing line. This gives us protection from being pushed around , as the wind goes right over our heads. We finished up match one from down there. Scores were much improved.
The wind finally stopped during the lunch break and we resumed firing from the regular line. During lunch we had a 30" prarie rattle snake come by for a visit. It made it's way under a few cars and hunkered down under the corner of the shed.
Saturday early evening was spent messing with handguns, .22 rifles, firing on the many metal targets on the range. Here are some photos.....lots of them. I will weed them out some other time. http://s190.photobucket.com/albums/z94/ ... C04428.jpg

Thanks for the pictures McAlice. Number 24 was great! Tell me it's going to be warmer for your SB Match! What time was it that Mr. Noshoulders came around?

JB........September in Colorado is usually pretty nice. We'll order up some good weather for the SB state. You should be OK with your floppy beach hat (the one with the flowers on it), sunscreen, your Elton John sunglasses, Bermuda shorts, and flip flops.
But just to play it safe, pack your down parka, wool cap, mittens......and dont forget to toss the snow chains into the back of your truck.
Hey Mary.....will you be in town that weekend?

Yeah, The first time I went there, Bonner told me that I might need a light jacket, didn't say anything about the four layers of clothes underneath it.

I might know where that rifle is if you need it. The scope has been swapped but it still has the steelchickens.com sticker. And you'd have to find your own zero's.colorado shooter wrote:Innocent are you going to need a rifle to shoot at the Colorado State match? Let me know so I can round up something that work for you. Kevin Pagano sold his Anschutz hunting rifle that you used last year.

Thanks for the shameless plug. Post up some pictures when they're delivered.
BTW, I still have most of the hats from my post in the marketplace if anyone's interested. (utterly shameless advertisement)
