Santa arrived a little late for Christmas but just in time for my first High Power match of 2010.
This is my first rifle stock build and just wanted to share.
Front half Remmington, Back half of stock from receiver back is American Black walnut inlayed with Ebony. This is patterned after my Robertson RTS stock, Pillar bedded and free floated with Pac 750 pad . Checkerd @ 20lines per inch( first time checkering).weight 28oz with out pad and 32.4oz with
Chamber 260 rem, tight neck, short throat, 24"Hart #5, 8 twist
Bolt lapped and faced, Tubb speedlock and Al shroud
Jackson 2 stage trigger, Anschutz shoe
Marvin P. rings and base with Leupold 6.5x 20 efr
Total weight 8lb 14.9 oz

Heck Jerry - I'd love to have the back half of a Nesika stock grafted on to the front of a sporter stock! Wood or composite!

was that an origional 260 classic? nice job either way

Yes, was originally a 260 CDL with fluted barel but didn't shoot. Went through 1500 rounds in load developement, neck turning and run out check. Stock originally looked good, if you want a hunting rifle, but rifle fit didn't work for silhouette shooting, Pistol grip small, comb too low, length of pull too short for me as my right thumb kept hitting me in the nose on recoil.
So a change was needed, got out a hammer and chisle and a couple hours later,
VOILA.
