Range report
Had a great weekend at the Yuma silhouette range. Weather sunny in the 60's with almost no wind. Saturday we shot Lever Action Silhouette, I was lucky enough to get the best of the other 11 shooters with a 30x40 with my Marlin 336a in .32 Special, shooting cast 180 grain gas checked bullets and 25 grains of 3031. This is a very accurate load and knocks the targets down right smartly, only one I lost was a ram that I hit in the hock. Sunday I shot some of my best scores of the winter, 30x40 with the 32-20 Marlin 1894, 115 grain cast with 10.5 grains of 4227. Alas, another guy shot a 31 so lost that one. Then, shot a 31x40 with the Marlin 39a and Federal Champion 510 ammo, got totally wiped out by our club's secretary, a little lady in her 60's who shot 37x40
Neverthess, a good time was had by all, all the shooters were way past Social Security age and were just glad we could still get out and shoot standing on our hind legs.
