Stolen targets
Shooters, Someone saw fit to break into the freezers we keep our animals in on the HP range at Consolidated Sportsmen of Lycoming Co. near Montoursville, Pa. They stole 20 each of full size chickens, pigs and rams. We don't know exectly when this happened, only that it was sometime in the last 4 weeks since our season ended. Keep an eye out for anyone either trying to sell animals as targets or for scrap. We feel thy are destined for the scrap market. We have had the state police start an investigation, but I don't know yet if our insurance will cover the loss. Let me know if you see any thing for sale. Thanks, Al Foust

Re: Stolen targets
Yea, the scrap yard is where they are almost certainly headed. That is what happens with all the copper cable and cooling coils stolen from A/C units.
If the police have not already done so for you, try to call around and notify salvage yards, pawn shops and so on.
Unfortunately, the odds are that the animals will be buried under other scrap in a truck and sold by the pound sight unseen.
Good luck.

Re: Stolen targets
Talk about stupid criminals...They should have did thier math before loading about 2300 lbs on iron. At the going rate of about .085 / lb that's only about $190.00. Subtract gas and at least two guys to load they should have got a job at McDonalds for the day for the few dollars they're making if they sell them for scrap.
Maybe they do what they cost when the metal is fabricated into silhouette animals.
