I have some savage magazines does anyone have info about filing them to work in a 54 anchutz action.they appear to measure identical to the factory anchutz mags.

For mine to work in my 1712, I had to relieve the top edge of the lips that fit around the magazine guide (located at the top rear of the magazine). I held my factory mag up to the Wisner (Savage replacement) mag, marked the difference on the lips, filed away (from the lips) what exceeded factory mag length. Then it was simply a matter of "plug and play". =))

I've read over on RFC where some posters there claim to use these mags without having to do any "fitting". Wasn't my experience. ^#(^

We have a supply of plastic bases that are molded after the factory Anschutz and fit on the Savage Mags.
Bright yellow. $5 ea.

My Savage mags work in my Anschutz's perfectly with no modification. Try them first.

Some rifles accept the mags without modification and some have to have about 3/8 " of metal removed. If you look closly at the Annie mags you will see that it is imposible to remove too much metal from the Savage mags. Just make sure you take it down far enough. A dremmel works real well and then put some cold blue on them.
