2012 Texas State Highpower Standard Rifle / Highpower Hunting Rifle Silhouette Championship
May 5th & 6th, 2012
Hosted By The Fort Bliss Rod and Gun Club, El Paso, TX
Tournament: Two-day NRA Registered Highpower Rifle Silhouette State Match hosted by the Fort Bliss Rod & Gun Club located at Roy Johnson Road. Take Loop 375 North from I-10 and exit on Railroad Dr. Make a right at traffic light at the access road and proceed approximately 1 mile to Roy Johnson Road. Turn right into the Fort bliss Rod and Gun Club.
Rules: All current NRA rules will apply.
Eligibility: Open to United States Citizens who are members of the National Rifle Association and to non – citizens who are members of their respective National Shooting Organization. Each competitor must also be a member of Texas State Rifle Association. (TSRA annual membership fee is $25.00 for Texas residents and $10 for non-residents). A photocopy of memberships must accompany all early registrations.
Classification: NRA Silhouette Classification System applies to all matches. Anyone without a current classification book will be required to purchase one from the stat office for a fee set by the NRA ($12.00). Beginners and unclassified shooters will shoot Unclassified Class. Resulting scores of the first match will establish their class for the remainder of the tournament. Non – US competitors not having an NRA classification book are required to provide proof of classification from their National Shooting Federation.

Match #1 – 40 Rounds Standard Rifle, Saturday May 5, 10:00 AM
Match #2 – 40 Rounds Hunting Rifle, Saturday May 5, 2:00 PM (or earlier)
Match #3 – 40 Rounds Standard Rifle, Sunday May 6, 10:00 AM
Match #4 – 40 Rounds Hunting Rifle, Sunday May 6, 2:00 PM (or earlier)
Match #5 – The Texas State Highpower Standard Rifle Championship
(Aggregate of matches #1 & #3) immediately following the conclusion of match #4.
Match #6 – The Texas State Highpower Hunting Rifle Championship
(Aggregate of matches #2 & #4) immediately following the conclusion of match #4.
Practice: The range will be open for practice at 11 AM on Friday May 4th. Registration at the club house is required.
Entry / Squadding: Advanced entry is required. Advanced entries will be accepted until April 22nd. A $5.00 discount will be given to all shooters who send entries by the April 22nd deadline. Shooters wishing to share rifles or having special squadding requests must make advanced entries. Post entries will be taken to fill vacancies established. No squadding requests will be accepted with post entries.
Entry limits: Standard Rifle – 80 rifles (5 relays, 4 banks)
Hunting Rifle – 80 rifles (5 relays, 4 banks)

Junior Shooters Standard Rifle - $25.00

Note: NRA registration of $4.50 per competitor and FBR&GC fee of $7.00 per day per shooter is included in the entry fee.
Safety on the line: Open bolt indicators will be required, per Rule 3.21. If you do not have a suitable indicator, one will be available for you for $1.00 at registration. All rifles, unless in their carrying case or in a gun cleaning rack with bolt removed, must be displaying an open bolt indicator in its action. All rifles must be carried and racked with muzzle up. Only upon ready command may rifles on the firing line be pointed down range. Hearing and eye protection will be required on the firing line. Alcoholic beverages will not be permitted on the range. Any competitor caught consuming alcoholic beverages during the match will be disqualified from the event.
Scoring: Competitors will keep score. Competitors are required to examine score cards after each series and to initial cards before leaving the line. Any scoring discrepancies must be resolved at the end of the five shot series involved and before targets are re-set. If a scorecard is not validated, the recorded score will stand and no changes will be made.
Jury: A jury of three persons will be selected and will act as the final authority on protests and disputes involving procedures, equipment or any other grievance filed.
Equipment: Rifles must be certified and meet NRA specifications. All rifles will be weighed and certified prior to the start of the event. Non certified rifles will not be allowed on the firing line. Rifles may be re-inspected by the jury at any time. Parts taken off rifles in order to make weight must remain in the stat office until the end of the match. Competitors need to assume the responsibility of claiming their parts after the match. Warehouse lifting belts will not be allowed unless in compliance with rule 5.5. Only clothing appropriate for existing weather will be permitted.
Long runs: Long runs will be fired at the end of the daily match after the conclusion of shoot offs. Competitors wishing to shoot for long run records must notify the stat office prior to the conclusion of the daily match.
In-A-Row Pins: 5 and 10 In-A-Row pins will be awarded to classes AA, A and B. Master & AAA classes are eligible for 10 In-A-Row pins only.
Ties: Daily matches will be decided by reverse animal count (turkey, ram, chicken, pig) except for Match Winner and those ties that cannot be decided by reverse animal count. Match Winner and ties that cannot be decided by reverse animal count and aggregates will be decided by sudden death shoot off. Ties for the State Championship will be decided by a five shot shoot off at turkeys.
Coaching: A person may have a spotter or coach with him on the line. Coaches must adhere to NRA rules concerning this topic.
Ammunition: Provided by the competitor. No magnums or hot loads allowed.

The Traveling Trophy will be awarded to the top shooter competing in both events (Texas residents only).
State Teams: The top three resident finishers in each Championship that will compete in the National Championships will be awarded stipends from TSRA to represent Texas.
Lodging: Space will be available at the range for campers or camping (primitive). Electricity is not available. Sewage disposal is limited to one hook up that can be used at the end of the match for competitors to dump sewage. Please make your lodging reservations on time as there will be a variety of events taking place in the area during this weekend.
