Nikon scope

Has anyone had any experience with Nikon Monarch or ED Monarch high magnification scopes. I'm looking for a scope for Rimfire silhouette and I'm considering the 6-24 and 8-32 variables from Nikon. Any thoughtful opinions would be greatfully appreciated. Cheers, Yulie.

Not exactly a commonly used scope for silhouette I would say. I hear nice things about Nikon and Burris glass but I haven't owned any myself. I am looking at a few of their scopes for another rifle I have coming but not silhouette related. Those can be some pricey scopes if I recall when you get to the 8-32x. If you are ok with a heavier variable in that mag range I would look into the Bushnell 4200 Elites or Elites as they call them now. I swear by them and you can get one and have the reticle changed out to a dot by TK Lee for less than the price I am thinking the Nikons and Burris go for.

Have a Monarch, nice glass but not good for silhouette, lacks good repeatability for sight adjustment.

I should have mentioned that if you are ok with a 6-24x the Bushnell Elite comes in that magnification with a 1/4" target dot and thin crosshairs already installed. I know of someone at my club with one for sale right now. Let me know if you might be interested and I'll pass the word.

Do those 4200 Elites have 1/8 or 1/4 min adjustments on windage/elevation?

They have 1/8" per click dials. But they repeat fantastically and I never had any issues knowing what animal I am on.

Have 6.5 - 20X - 40 Monarch. IMO glass is better than the 6.5 - 20 EFR Leupold (have 3), but it has less eye relief and more importantly 1/8 min clicks, which when I used for silhouette got me in trouble. Had no problem with repeatability
