Re: SILHOUETTE IN MAINE
There use to be one club in Maine that had silhouette but it was killed by the clubs shot gunners. There is 4 clubs in NH that have active silhouette. One in the winter and 3 in the summer. I am also going to run approved matches in Mass this year. We will have small bore cowboy and small bore silhouette.
Its a dog eat dog world and I'm wearing milk bone underwear.

N1YDP.
The club in Falmouth, ME shut down before I got to NH. I think it was Falmouth. In short, I only hear great stories about shooting and then great clambakes with steamed lobster under seaweed which for Mainers, is the only way to eat lobster. For reasons I am not clear, burnout I believe, the program ended. Today, a few of the Maine shooters travel to the NH matches to see friends and enjoy their favorite shooting sport.
Maine is a big state and I have no idea where you are. But, mapquest your origin to Holderness, NH and/or Dunbarton, NH and that is the drive you are looking at. If you are passionate about the game, PM me and I can give you some contact info for the guy who used to run the Maine match. Maybe you want to start it up again. Keeping programs going is less club dependent than it is volunteer dependent. As the saying goes, "It takes a village". Silhouette is not a money maker for clubs in comparison to what the "action pistol" and "carbine" types will pay to spray and pray.
As a note, at a NH match, you can shoot PCCLA, SBCB, SBR and SBHR. 240 animals go up at Dunbarton and all rifle and pistol silhouette disciplines can be shot on thick and thin 1/2 scale and the standard cast 1/5th scale. Read, if you make the drive, you can get a lot of scores in your book All matches are 40 shots and you can re-enter up to 5x. Hope that helps and we look forward to seeing you at a match in NH.
