Another is this legal question

I have a wood stock with a comb that is a bit low. If I were to cut the top of the comb off, and reattach it to the stock with a couple of wood pillars to raise the height, would this be legal. The comb and pillars would be glued in place so it would not be adjustable and well below the bore line.
