Chicken swinger
I was going to buy a chicken swinger for 200M. Quality targets has 1/2 inch chickens with feet, and 3/8 inch swinger drilled with no feet. I was thinking it would be better to have the 1/2 inch. I imagine they would make 1/2 if I asked, but is that appropriate? I was also milling over getting a pig. So what should I order?

That 3/8" AR500 will last you a lifetime.

Only if he misses it a lot.
I weld repair the foot pads on ten chickens for every pig. That chicken takes a beating from most silhouette rounds. Whittington's chickens are a full 5/8ths. I recommend asking them for a 1/2 inch chicken without the foot. The extra couple of pounds of steel going half inch is a good thing. Get a no foot non drilled blank, pick a side and weld a 5/8ths bolt to it like mine. You will hit an exposed bolt head or nut at some point. Get a half inch pig the same way. Use a looped tire tread strap to hang them. The swing stops quick and the strap will last a long time.

Re: Chicken swinger
Well... in all fairness, your chickens are doing full-duty at an active silhouette range. Between you camping at the range on the weekends and whooping that chicken non-stop and all the guys pounding it during matches that thing gets abused.
I guess I was assuming he was wanting it for personal use but now I see that he didn't specify that.
I have a piece of 8" AR500 that I have beat the crap out of and it only has a few very slight nicks in the edge from close range .223 hits.

Now don't get your chicken feathers ruffled there,Trent.
I figure Ter wants it for personal use, but he won't be the only one hitting it once his buddies find out he has one.
Yep, the wife is in FL for a week visiting her mom. I spent three of the last seven days at CRC. Three pounds of Varget went up in smoke.
Oh yeah, those holes in the pig strap are from Bonner.

I figured. Most of Bonner's hits are pure luck. That dude is just horrible. I don't know why we hang out with him.
3 pounds of Varget!! You might as well be spreading gold dust around the prairie! Good god man!

I am going back to I4064 for most of my practice for now, I have a few cans. But Varget is like gold, still hard to find. I like spreading lead dust around the prairie.
Wifey returns tomorrow night at 8. That gives me enough time to get a couple hundred loaded up, sink full of dirty dishes cleaned and maybe a load of laundry done....if I can figure out how.

A 3/8" chicken at 200 meters won't last very long. It will get beat up and dish just like the 1/4" SB chickens do.

When I saw the title to this thread all I could picture is a chicken with gold chains and a bad toupee winking and pointing his finger at you like a gun.
I buy all my guns from t-rex. He's a small arms dealer.

That gun he shoots wouldn't harm a chicken.
