Alternative to Anschutz MSR

I have been haunting the sales sites the last couple of months looking for an MSR I could afford and only found one which I did not win. Are there any readily available alternatives to the Anschutz match rifles? The only American made two stage trigger I am familiar with that might be equal quality is made by Kidd for the 10/22. However wonderful it is, wouldn't lock time of the auto make it a real handicap? So...what else is out there?

Appreciate your thoughts on what makes a good standard rifle now that Anschutz is unobtainable. Thanks!

Thanks for the response Mr. Evelio. I have not had much luck with that route either! Lol! It is hard to find rifles or ammo these days! Champion's do not have any new barreled actions, and I can't find a used rifle of any kind for a decent price.

Besides, there is nothing like true match triggers of the big rifles. Back when I used to shoot silhouette I had three different hunter rifles over as many years, and none of them ever held a candle to a 64 MSR I had for a little while. Man I wish I had that one back!

On that note: what is a fair price for a 54.18 now? I found a used single shot for 2000$, but thought that was overpriced. Is that what they go for? Man they have really gone up!

Also, I found an 1808 with a bloop tube and weights a couple of weeks ago, would that have been legal? I can't remember if Gator lets modified barrels go in Standard or not. Anybody?

Thanks for the tip. I looked at their website and saw new rifles, but would you happen to know if they carry used ones too?

If you mean the irrascible curmudgeon otherwise known as Ed Jones, probably not for an experienced shooter. Maybe a newbie....just to get them on the range.
Doesn't matter....show up and squad with me and I'll let you shoot my sporter rifle when its not my relay.

I bought a 54-18 from them about 5 years ago used. Give Cathy a call. They just might have one.

Heck now that I'm thinking of it DJ's gun and loan had a used msr single shot when I was in there a couple weeks ago. I have to be in the area to pick up my parrot from birdy day care later so I'll see if it's still there and what Bruce is asking for it. Stay tuned.

Thanks for the offer! The wife and I are trying to get everything together so we can make the Chattanooga matches. We have missed them the last couple of years. Hide and wait, I might take you up on your offer yet! You've got yours trained to hit all the Turkeys, don't you? I would need that!

Pardon my ignorance, but what’s the difference between 64 MSR and 64 MS?
MSR has a big Anschutz logo and the newer trigger?
