Web-master; I don't normaly reply to the negative or off the wall posts that are sometimes on this forum. I do feel compelled however to express my dissatisfaction to the creation of this new section.
Don't get me wrong I am far from being a prude. I can be as profane, crude, ignorant and wierd as anyone can be, in the right setting. I reserve those antics for the lunch room at work, the hunting cabin, or the bar room with the guys.
I know you started this site because you felt Graybeards was censoring the posts too much, and I do respect that. You have a great site here and it provides a great service to the silhouette community. However I don't think this is the place for the kinds of posts you will get here.
This forum should be positive and informative. The veteran shooters should be posting on here doing all we can to help the new shooters and help the sport grow. This site is a go to place for new shooters to get information. They will read the posts in this section, and many will be turned off to silhouette if we are portayed in the wrong light.
I have been disturbed as some of the post of late that are merely personal attacks. This is not the place for that, send an e-mail or get instant messanger.
What's next; Steel Chickens porn? I know this post will ruffle some Steel Chicken feathers, and I am prepared to take the heat. If you think I am out of line by all means send me an e-mail. alf@chilitech.net.

I hate to say it, but I agree that the creation of this section was a bad idea. Unless you can somehow find a way to put a real age verification check on this section, I don't see much of a way to prevent this new part from tarnishing the reputation of the site and silhouette shooting in general. Other than the few personal attacks that have come out on here lately, everything that I have been exposed to in silhouette shooting has been helpful and friendly, and that's the message that I take to prospective new shooters, including kids. The stuff that this forum is intended to contain reminds me way too much of what I experienced in the short time I shot trap. It's fine to say "Don't look in this forum if you don't want to see this stuff" but when a new shooter comes here for info, they're going to explore the whole forum system, including this one. Their opinions will be made by everything they see here. Imagine a new junior shooter being given this URL to learn about silhouette and his/her parent seeing the kind of stuff that this area is made for. It would end that kid's silhouette shooting career for sure.
I sure hope this was just a product of some drunken fellowship at the match. I think the talk that would go here, which I've never heard anywhere at a match, needs to stay "behind the berm" instead of out here on the web in front of everyone.

I have to agree with Al & Jason. This is the best site for silhouette info. Up until now with an excellent reputation. Why tarnish a good thing with "Behind the Bern " stuff. Please file it as " seemed like a good idea at he time" scrap this section, and leave Behind the Bern stuff, Behind the Bern, not in public view. I can't see it adding to the sites quality, gaining us any more members, increasing information on Silhouette shooting, just degrading the value of the site.

Regardless of what you think about the "behind the berm" area of this forum, I personally think it is a good idea for some of us to post bullshit to the extreme. I realize that this site is the greatest thing for silhouette shooting since sliced bread, but give me a break. If you do not want to enter this part of the site, then DON'T!
The Webmaster has plainly stated that it has nothing to do with helping others in the sport. Some people got offended by the posts in the Clubhouse and that spot is for general bullshit, but some want it for what the other parts of the site exist for.
I want to thank Mordecai for listening to us reprobates and giving us a part of his site to bullshit and do whatever we want. He cut the thread out that started all the whining and I personally almost fell out of my chair laughing as Marvin, or is that Mervin, called himself a genuine fuck tard. I don't care who you are, that is funny and I was amused at all the attacks on that thread.
If you cannot take the bullshit in this section, then DON'T enter it!!!! Simple enough, but don't try to kill a site that some of us wanted. I am not attacking anyone for their point of view. The only thing that I recommend is to limit it to eighteen or older and that is simple enough to prove in the small silhouette community!

I have to agree with Ducky on this, what happened in the clubhouse a few weeks back was out right attacks. This is not the first time, just the most resent. I did not think they were warranted nor justified on that venue. I wanted to respond, but felt I would do so in my usual manner and say what I really thought. I refrained and for those who know me that is a stretch for me simply because of the young adults who would see my response. I feel we needed a place to drag out these bullies and keyboard courage snipers and tan their hide in the same manner as they have attacked, publicly.
I do agree we need to limit by age who can view this forum. Eighteen and younger do not need to be exposed to the manner in which these people need to be summarily ridiculed. If we cannot be assured that youngsters are unable to access this forum, than I totally agree we need to close it.
Do I feel some will take offense, yes, but maybe they need to get a dose of reality every once in awhile that they are not supreme imperial rulers and can go about being uncivil and belligerent to others on a public forum. They need to be made aware that their action have consequences and being politically correct on the other forums is not going to stop us here. I have never hid behind a keyboard like some of the spineless wonders do and it is applauding that we have allowed it to happen.
It is time to tell people how the cow ate the cabbage.

With age verification I am glad I met people this weekend that can vouch for me being 23.
IMO if it is marked Adult content etc and age verified only then it's a non-issue. Adults need to be free to make their own decisions and not forced into the decisions of those that want no option when they could just simply opt not to go there to begin with.
Like changing the TV channel when your offended is simple enough to do why is this any different?
America land of the free. Free to be offended and all those other freedoms that come with free speech. You have no right to not be offended in this country but you have the right to walk away, more people should exercise that right instead of trying to restrict the rights of all others.

I have to agree with tha last couple of responses. AMERICA is being PUSSIFIED by all you people who don't want to know the truth and dont want others to know the truth simply because YOU dont agree with what being said, if you dont like it then shut the fuck up and move along. America is about being free and being free to day any god damm thing you want, that's what makes this country so great. If you people don't think that there is any place for all the shit you don't like then get the hell out and move to canada or mexico or better yet England. If you don't like it don't come to this post, but don't tell me what I should be able to read and not read.

I agree with your outlook. Life just isn't that complicated. Do what you do, do a good job. Treat people right and expect the same. Just because you are trying hard or you have good intentions means zip. Keep score or don't play. Political correctness is the excuse behind many an unsolved problem. That's all for now. Jim

boy this is nothing. back in the day when I was in the Air Force, we had a "log" called the "hog log". If you stepped in it in the air or on the ground, you got hammered. None of this weak-assed schidt. You were smote. You grew thick skin quickly. ( that's why I weigh so much....really thick skin) And you learned that one day you were gonna step in it, so you always stopped before the kill......except one time when Box'O rocks took exception to something Nutts wrote. Of course that also was duly recorded in the log..........with embelleshments.....I wish I knew where they were now. I say hang on and enjoy the ride. And if you don't like it, don't ride the big rollercoaster.

You know if there is one regret I have in life, it's that I can't tell a story like this....psteiger wrote:boy this is nothing. back in the day when I was in the Air Force, we had a "log" called the "hog log". "Yeah back when I was in the corps...."
Service to our country, and the brotherhood are things that we as a society are getting farther and farther from. It's FUCK your buddy, screw over the other guy. Like somehow it is 'OK' if you didn't know the person/s.
Honor and intregrety are 2 things that you will not find on the lips of many.
Example (not that I am something special..)
We recently put our house up for sale. Someone wrote an offer in a hurry and made a typo in the offer. They offered us above asking price if we would pay 3% of their closing costs. Not 3% of the loan, but 3% of their closing costs. The CLEARLY wanted 3% of the house to cover the closing, not 3% of that number. I could have signed it, and let the chips fall where they may, tieing them up under a false pretence and then made them back out and keep their earnest $. That is what i was advised to do by one person. I choose to 'Counter the offer' Letft the price where it was (above asking) and offered to pay 1.5% of the asking price. They signed the offer. Could I have 'pulled it off'? Who knows, they clearly admited that the offer was written wrong, but their intent was 3% of the offered price.
My guess - If I would have tried to screw them, they could have found a way out AND got the earnest $ back, not closed the loan, and my house would have been tied up for 3 weeks and coming back onto the market. By being 100% up front, honest ... I choose to think that I got rewarded 1.5% of my home price, b/c this was less than their offer.
Intrestning thread. When I first heard the forum (BHTB) name I thought it might be a place for dirty jokes and the such. But discussions like these could change my opinion of this place...
