Dunno what the rules are like elsewhere, but we can only discuss opinions - liberal or conservative - that are relevant to the course, and the general rule everywhere is that unsupported opinions in the classroom are subject to peer discipline because it undermines all of us. The allegations I'm aware of on this campus have at least two sides, and the more common story is of an instructor intervening when one student is trying to intimidate others with different opinions into silence.

Hadn't heard about the textbook description of Regan - where did you pick that up Ducky? I'm curious how they would support it.

I went to Cal State Long Beach and by far and away the most outrageously behaved people were the professors. How about the Art prof I had for Minority Perspectives In Art (yes, I really had to take such a class) who declared that, "White people have no culture."? Disagreeing with her in front of the class changed my perfect grade into a C for the semester.

So much for Liberal freedom and acceptance of diversity.

I got the info about the rewriting of history from Fox & Friends. I know that Liberals do not watch FOX news channel as they are too afraid of the real truth!

Bob, you should force yourself to watch this every Wednesday morning between 7 and 8 AM (if you are up! And should be getting your heart healthy exercise!!) The professor that is exposing this Liberal shit is on on Wednesday mornings. You can probably do a search on the FOX site about this and get his info. I do not remember his name, but have seen him twice and each time something different is exposed about the fucktard Liberal college academia and their obviously biased slant on history and trying to brainwash our young people!

Too true - I've spent just enough time in California that this one is easy to believe. Even a California conservative is pretty liberal by my standards, and this was technical folks, not college professors. Yeah, I'm not much of a liberal but I'm all y'all have...

A professor that did that here, conservative or liberal, would have a chat with the chancellor, and rightly so. Expressing an opinion appropriately in class is one thing, but punishing a student for disagreeing - politely and academically - is quite another. Suppression is the enemy of diversity, and I frequently disagreed with my professors - with more conservative positions! - without punishment.
