The making of a Champion.
Mr.Bonners account of my spotting skills is sugar coated and not entirely accurate. It took a lot more than the coddling he suggests to turn this guy into a champ. So using his post in HP I will add in my own words, in CAPS, what really went down to make this guy the Colorado State Champion.
Three things helped me shoot good on Saturday:
1. We had great conditions that made for good Standard Rifle scores. Rarely do we have such nice days on match days at Colorado Rifle Club.
2. I had the Guru spotting for me. The Guru knows how to spot and encourages his shooter to excel during the match. When I would shoot a low shot on an animal he would say "GEEZ DAVE, YOU ARE SCARING THE SHIT OUT OF ME. WHAT THE HELL ARE YOU DOING WAY DOWN THERE ? GET THAT F%$##@&** DOT BACK IN THE CENTER OF THE ANIMAL. I want to see the next one in the center" . When I would miss he would call the location of the miss and say "WTF WAS THAT SHOT !? WHAT IN THE HELL ARE YOU DOING ? GET YOUR HEAD OUT OF YOUR BUTT AND GET IT BACK IN THE GAME. DO YOU REALLY NOT WANT TO BE THE STATE CHAMPION ? I want you to pick up the rest of the remaining animals on the bank". The Guru always gave me up dates on the wind speed and direction during the match. HOLY SHIT DAVE, YOU HIT THE TARGET OUT ON THE FAR EDGE!! WHAT THE HELL ARE YOU DOING ? DID YOU NOT SEE THE FLAGS !?!! THE WIND DROPPED OFF FOR CRIPES SAKE !! WHY DO I ALWAYS HAVE TO REMIND YOU OF THE CHANGING CONDITIONS ? NOW PUT THAT DAMN WINDAGE KNOB BACK TO ZERO. The Guru did a damn good job of helping this 6.5mm shooter. BECAUSE I TOOK PITY ON HIM, NO ONE ELSE WOULD COME NEAR HIM WITH THAT SMELLY UNDERWEAR.
3. I was wearing my lucky underwear the pair with the brown racing stripe down the middle. Wearing the lucky underwear gave me the confidence to shoot good scores. THERE IS NO WAY THAT SOILED SKIVIES COULD GIVE ANY GUY IN HIS RIGHT MIND A BOOST OF CONFIDENCE. YOU ARE A PSYCHO AND NEED HELP. ALL IT DOES IS DRAW HOARDS OF FLIES. THAT IS WHY NO ONE CAME UP AND SHOOK YOUR HAND. NOW THROW THOSE STINKY THINGS AWAY AND GET A LIFE.
Note to self: Wash underwear before wearing to help with the chafing on my butt.

........and that is what really went down to make this guy a champ.
THE END

I don't think that part will be a problem. We'll also loan you all the bulk Federal ammo you can shoot.Bob259 wrote:McAlice, your beautiful....![]()

Well Trent seeing I shoot a 6.5 in HP and haven't bought into McAlice's "hit em hard hit em with a 7MM" I would have expected no less from McAlice... but from a fellow 6.5 shooter (a convert from the Guru no less) I did expect a litttle more from you (at least CCI white box)Trent wrote:
