Being PC
WTF is this world comming to?
"A Kitchener, Ont., man was handcuffed and arrested by police, and his children were taken into custody of child welfare officials, because his four-year-old daughter drew a picture of a man with a gun using crayons in her kindergarten class."

My cousin and I made a wooden Thompson with a drum magazine in wood shop when we were kids, think the teachers would like that today?

Go back further to the 60's ...
remember "Combat!" & "Rat patrol"?
Had a neighbor that would cut out a Tommy Gun or a Schmeisser (sp?) from a piece of 1x12 for you on his bandsaw at the asking (bust it and he'd just make you a new one) ... man we had some great street to backyard battlezones in those days!

1x12 for the body and drum, broomhandle for the barrel. Can't remember if the plans were in popular mechanic's or one of the other do-it-yourself magazines but that's where we got the idea.

Re: Being PC
I escaped the tragic childhood gun experiences relatively unscathed other than being argumentative on internet forums, my cousin wasn't so fortunate, he turned out to be mass murderer....just kidding! He's the CEO of a multi-million dollar pipeline company, guns are such a terrible influence on kids.

Re: Being PC
Just check out the computer games played today! Sheesh, the stuff we did was nothing compared to that stuff! And if that gets boring they'll cut out an assault rifle in the CNC lab, or print one on the new 3D printer. The more things change, the more they stay the same.

Well Kevinbear, my childhood was limited to cowboys and indians, with a little Daniel Boone thrown in.....no tv, but I can tell you about how sea turtles lay eggs, what manatees do when you sneak up on them in a canoe, and well we won't get into hippos seen!

I'm surprised you can remember that long ago Mary...Now hear this you weasly lil ammo thief (did you ever snag Cracker's ammo?) my memory is usually pretty good, and age has little to do with it. And if you ever saw "them there hills" that the Indians were creeping over on the Banana River then you would understand how I remember that long ago. Besides, I'm pretty sure you are at least a year older than me.
