williams sights on 1894
I finally put a Williams receiver sight on my Marlin 1894. I noticed a vast improvement in sight picture but the aperture looks a little large for Pistol cartridge Silhouette. Can anyone give me an idea of a common size aperture?

I think Williams has those listed on their web site.

Being a machinist and all, I'm thinking you might mean an opening of .050 and .093, not .50 & .93.
.50 opening would be an opening of 1/2" and the .93 opening would be an opening of 15/16 of an inch.
Once again, I may be wrong, but I have the same apperatures and even the outside of the apperature ring is smaller than 1/2" in diameter.

A .050" is good for use with the factory front sight or with the supplied inserts that come with the Lyman 17 series front sights, if you use one of those. I use a .040" aperture with the small bead insert from Lee Shaver, as that combo seems to give me a more precise sighting setup. I have to drop back to the .050" aperture if the light is too low, though.
